They Took Away My iTunes!

Letter To W2

Management needs to treat everyone with fairness and they don’t.  Some people get away with anything and others can’t even leave their stations.  I’m ok being left alone, but others complain and it brings me down so that I just want to listen to music on my earplugs, but those have been banned.  It sucks.

Is Congress actually doing anything?

The Worried Worker (W2)

No, but the cleaning people at the White House are busy keeping things white.

President Obama recently blamed poor job numbers on congressional inaction – and, it’s his Congress.

Now, he had a good vacation and all, but the deficit didn’t improve from the 2010 projection of $1.3 trillion.  Yes, that’s a lot of zeroes.

Even Joe [...]

Illegal Immigrants work for less pay - duh!

The Worried Worker (W2)

This really isn’t news, but when past Secretary of State Colin Powell says “”they’re doing things we need done in this country” it becomes a story that is hard to file.  Ok, so we all drive by places with “illegals” hanging out in front – and I don’t mean the immigration offices.

Illegals will do work [...]

Bell – the story about stupid Voters

The Worried Worker (W2)

A story all over the news these days is about eight city leaders in Bell, California – paying themselves huge amounts of money – the fat city manager earning  $800,000 per year – twice as much as our President and others earning equally obscene amounts.

The funding was not from revenue or sales; it was from [...]

Bosses are Cry-Babies!

Anita Newjob

What a day!

Ok, what a week – month – year…

I work in a company of companies.  This is strange.  We have employees from different companies wandering around with people who actually work for all the companies.

We have executives who we think actually speak to each other to make the best of all joint energies and [...]

The Recession is over; haven’t you heard?

Mad James

So, the news is that it ended in June 2009.  This is great news for the millions out of work because it suggests that their inability to get a job was just a nightmare.

They forgot to tell us that it takes a long time for unemployment to dry up after a recession ends – there [...]

Employees are still not working hard enough !

Letter To W2

Employees are hiding from the inevitable.  My one big pet peeve are employees who hide behind their monitors to avoid actually being accountable for their actions or simply emailing friends about the shoes they want.  Right now with this economy most of my employees try to avoid my glance at them and duck their heads [...]

5 ways to pump up your energies

Mad James

Many things pretty much suck right now.  Unemployment figures aren’t good, consumers aren’t spending, the government is spending way too much and people are thinking more about who to vote against, than whom to vote for.

It would be easy to hide in the dark and “wait” for some good news, or you could take some [...]

How full is your freezer?

The Worried Worker (W2)

Lot’s of ways to answer.

How much do you have is an issue of what you store, what you can afford, and whether or not you freeze stuff.

If the freezer is a metaphor for something else, new rules apply.  If it’s your heart, other rules apply and on and on.

Our freezer is about work, about jobs.  [...]
