Memorial Day – the numbers will never decrease

In the United States, Decoration Day, as it was formerly known, commemorates U.S. soldiers who died while in the military service.  People put flags out, take a day off work, have family barbecues and drink beer, go to parades with hundreds of war veterans and stay home for a quiet day.
But, how many Americans see [...]

This King is crazy! Or, is he?

Mad James

The Burger King ad featuring with its King mascot portrayed as crazy offends mental health organization, according to recent reports.

Yes, a mental health organization spent the time to say that an ad featuring a comic book “King” is offensive.  Would they have been upset if it was a human king?  Do they believe that Burger [...]

Where are you when you’re needed?

The Worried Worker (W2)

We’ve been reminded numerous times – too many times – in recent weeks and months about the lack of corporate and government responsibility in countries around the world.  We’ve also been reminded that there are bad people out there and many of them seem to go on and on with their bad deeds.

It’s a good [...]

I’m never eating Kim Chee again!

Pressley Carson

I think I’ve had it with Koreans; I’m not a racist by any stretch, but I can’t keep supporting people or countries that are making it hard for me to find a new job, or to even keep my hard-earned money in the bank.

Today’s news is the last straw; or pickled cabbage.

We’ve got Europe falling [...]

Would you want this job?

The Worried Worker (W2)

Representing Lindsay Lohan’s public relations.

Yes, that’s correct, there’s an “l” in the word, so don’t be nasty.  It’s the “public” part of the business, which in many ways, may be ALL the business.

This is really just a sad story of a young talent who spends much of her time vomiting in bushes, snorting cocaine, [...]

Obama’s First Year and a Half in Office

The Worried Worker (W2)

It’s possible that President Obama’s first two years in office will rival any other American president’s entire one or two terms in office as it relates to change in Washington DC.  First, the stimulus bill.  Second, the health care bill.  A couple of women on the Supreme Court.  Then there’s education, and North Korea slamming [...]

My Boss wants to take my Bonus Back!

Anita Newjob

Times have been tough on everyone.  Everyone I know, that has a job, has worked harder than ever over the last couple of years and is constantly afraid of losing their job.  I just figured it out – it isn’t fear of losing the job, it’s the money.  Duh.

Most of my friends hate their jobs, [...]

I got my cellphone/PDA taken away.

Mad James

They took it and they were mean.   I’m not a teenager who went over her minutes. I am a senior manager at my company who works nights and weekends, and am constantly on my phone. Anyone higher than a manager, directors and above will continue to share their phone privileges with the executive elite.

Not sure [...]

Sending a Message That You Don’t Care

Anita Newjob

It’s very easy to do, actually.

If you need some tips, just hang out at my office for a day.  Within an hour of being there, you’d get a clear message, many times over, that you’re essentially an invasion of air-space.

My bosses are the worst.  They constantly take or make calls.  Once they got [...]

Position Needed: Sex Team To Find Girls

Pressley Carson

The Huffington Post reported that before he was engaged to Katy Perry, Russell Brand obliged his raging need for meaningless sex by hiring a team to help him target women.

“When I was at my most promiscuous, I was like a charging locomotive,” Brand tells Playboy in the June issue. “My selection process was outsourced. [...]
