Two and a Half Men – back in production

Mad James

Charlie Sheen returns to the set and about 250 people are still employed.  Isn’t that great?

Warner Bros. TV kept the pomp and circumstance to a minimum, only confirming via a statement that “‘Two and a Half Men’ has resumed production.”  A lot of people around the country waited with anticipation to see if the third striker would actually have to go to jail – but, it didn’t happen.

Production on “Two and a Half Men” was put on hold Feb. 23, as Sheen checked himself into a rehabilitation clinic for what was called a “preventative measure.”  He was apparently preventing himself from threatening his wife anymore, or someone else.  The reports aren’t clear on what or who he was preventing, but we’re sure it was more than half of someone else.

Sheen was arrested on Christmas Day for allegedly threatening his wife, Brooke Mueller, with a knife. The popular actor is facing a domestic violence charge in the case, and formally entered his plea on March 15.

“Men” had shot 18 of its 24 episodes before the shutdown. The show was off for three weeks, but one of those weeks was a pre-scheduled hiatus.

There’s plenty of speculation, meanwhile, that CBS and Warner Bros. TV may opt not to make up those two weeks and ultimately reduce this season’s episodic order from 24 to 22 — meaning the show would only shoot four more episodes this year. WBTV declined comment.

What does this mean to anyone reading this?  Not a damn thing.

This is a story about a guy with a violence problem that in any other job would get him fired and in jail. In Hollywood, there is enough money surrounding the show that as they say, “the show must go on.”  In any other job it would be, “where do we find a temp?”
