Things won’t look better until there are jobs – until there are companies hiring people and paying them – until people start new businesses and get funding to do so – until people buy big appliances, and cars, and homes. While the August unemployment claims looked good and the then improved, the news on the strett in the last few weeks has not been uplifting.
Whereas 29 states lost jobs in July, 45 states lost jobs in August. And even though there are good signs of recovery everywhere, the jobs situation is getting worse. We’re seeing fewer job claims filed and the revisions from previous months are going down, not up. With all the reforms the government is putting out there, there ought to be plenty of new jobs in government opening up. And, when government jobs open up, fast food jobs most certainly follow. And, when fast food opens, there are more clothing stains and dry cleaners should kick back in and so on and so on….
