Accept You Reject

Mad James

Attention Outlook users; you probably know how easy it is to set-up an appointment or meeting. It goes a little something like this:

1. Choose a time
2. Choose who you want to attend
3. Click send

Yes, it’s that simple…except when it comes to my boss. He’s a lovely guy, but he makes setting up a meeting virtually impossible:

  • At least 2-3 times a week he deletes appointments in his calendar without notifying anyone in the meeting. The result is me preparing for a meeting, showing up and then being told the meeting was cancelled. What!!??
  • He blocks out his entire calendar during the week so it looks like he’s in meetings all day. He says he does this because he doesn’t want everyone trying to schedule meetings with him, but when we DO need a meeting it’s impossible to figure out when he’s available.
  • He has an executive assistant! I’m sorry, if she’s not managing his calendar, what’s she doing all day? Come to think about it, his door has been closed quite often and he has been awfully cheery lately. Hmm…no!

Now that Outlook is failing me, what’s a humble employee to do?

sounds like we have the same boss - only mine doesn’t sync his pda with his computer often enough and we’re all messed up
