I think management needs to be stricter about our dress code. Young girls wear these revealing tops that don’t always cover their bellies and backs and when they bend over it’s almost a contest to see who has the wildest tattoo above their behind. It’s hard not to look at the designs and just the other day I got caught looking and now this girl thinks I’m some aging lesbian – I’m not! Can’t management make them cover it up?
When I first read your Bizpain issue, I thought…..get over it! But then, all of a sudden a dose of realty hit me and I couldn’t agree with you more. Although Dress Code can be perceived as a sensitive corporate issue; companies these days are ‘way’ too afraid of dealing with it. I currently happen to have a wonderful hard working female employee that looks and dresses like the town whore! We’ve addressed her look before but not much has changed. Companies are far too afraid of getting their butts sued for discrimination.
So, how do you handle this? I myself wasn’t sure. So I called one of my best friends who happens to be the HR Manger for a very large firm. I mean large, thousands of employees…. Her response was: Good Luck, it’s just one of those things you’ll have to get used to….
I was shocked with her response. She went on to tell me about numerous discrimination law suits that have come about when this type of issue has been addressed. She suggested if it bothers you that much; speak with your management as see if they would be willing to re-issue a copy of the company dress code. Remember; dress codes can’t and won’t address under garments nor body tattoos!
So what if she thinks you’re an aging Lesbian….. who cares; are you? Time to move on and stress about something else like who’s going to be our next President? Now, that’s something to stress about!
If we’re not careful we might have a need for a dress code at the White House….never know what a potential V.P. might be showing! Guns or Roses?
Smile…

I have a tat on my lower back that my husband loves and I like showing it off. If people like it, I’m ok with it.
My generation didn’t let anyone see our tatoos. I think they’re dirty and send a message about sex, especially when they’re on the behind.
My tattoo is small and artful, a little heart coming out of a cloud.
men have them all over their arms, why should women have them.
A tattoo is not a problem, it’s the short shirts and hip hugging pants or low cut skirts that let them be seen that’s the problem. Too much skin is not good for the office.
I’m ok with most girls showing skin whether they have tattoos or don’t.
