Thrown Under The Bus

Letter To W2

Dear W2

I want revenge.  Help me.  We had a big project due and Ellen didn’t do her part at all.  When we presented, Ellen took all the credit.  Later, I heard that she actually told our manager that I was the one who didn’t do their part.  The boss believed her and chewed me out without letting get one word in.  I’m so mad I don’t know what to do, but what I want to do is illegal and violent.

Dear Keanu:

Slow down there pal…..if this is the worst thing you will ever have to deal with in life, then you’re way ahead of the game.  While I can understand why you’d be pissed off, doing something illegal and/or violent will only get you in a badly colored striped outfit and behind bars….does the term prison-bitch mean anything to you?

Do absolutely nothing for the next few days or week.  You’ve got to get the emotions out of your system before launching your plan of attack…..yes, I said attack.  I fully support you rectifying this, but only when you’re calm and able to think strategically.

Think about this…..you’re actually in control and can see this through the end, she (Ellen) has done her part….now it’s your turn.  So, Play to win!

Here’s what I recommend:

During your cooling off period start gathering data that can be used to help your case.  This will be critical when you go in for the kill…..you’ll need as much proof as possible!  Whatever you do… don’t let anyone know what you are doing, and I mean anyone!

Now that you’re cool and your boss has forgotten about it and moved on, it’s time to ATTACK!  Schedule a meeting with your boss.  See if you can do it when Miss Liar is not around.

a.     Be factual in your approach

b.    Speak calmly and with no emotions.  Use terms such as…..Boss, the reason I requested to  meet with you is that I would like to address the conversation we had regarding your concerns of my lack of involvement and work production on the project I was working on with Ellen.  While I can understand your frustrations and concerns, I’d like to share a few facts with you!

c.   You then calmly begin your attack…….never use words like… that liar, no good bitch, etc.  Keep it very professional, speak clearly and leave no room for your boss to think anything other than your goal is to clear your name.

If you can do this, your boss will soon realize that Ellen is not trustworthy.  BUT, you’ve got to let your boss come to this conclusion.  Remember, take the horse to water and let them drink it…..

I wish you the best and would like to hear back from you; AFTER, you won the game at work and not from prison!

Pressley

I get screwed all the time by the butt kissers who take all the credit when everyone else does the work. Pressley, your comments are right on, but revenge still sounds better.
